Overview
Full day trip to the UNESCO listed monasteries of Meteora from Thessaloniki starts early in the morning by comfortable air-conditioned coach and travel through a landscape of green valleys dotted with dramatic grey cliffs to reach Meteora.
On arrival, take an amazing 5 hours Meteora tour, see all 6 monasteries and visit inside 2 of them. Our Tour Leader will give you full attention and explain the monasteries’ construction, art, and history.. Plenty of photo opportunity stops and many secrets places that only locals know will make your tour a life time experience.
Visit the famous Meteora, geological formations unique in their kind, on which the Monasteries are perched: they were built in the 14th century and they are rich in precious testimonies of Byzantine art.
In the end you will make your lunch break in nearby Kalampaka before your return. Retrace the route back to Thessaloniki, where you will arrive late in the afternoon.
