The abode of the ancient Greek gods, the highest place in Greece, a national park with stunning scenery - all this is Olympus. In ancient Greek myths, it is said that 12 supreme gods headed by Zeus lived on one of the peaks, and deities of nature, muses, nymphs and satyrs lived in the gorges. Today, Olympus is a historical and archaeological monument under the protection of UNESCO. The local flora and fauna are no less amazing than the mythical events associated with this area.
Dion, a place dedicated to the worship of the Olympian Zeus, is located near the home of the twelve Olympian Gods, the Mount Olympus. In antiquity, Dion served as the religious center of the Ancient Macedonians and was renowned all over Greece. Before starting his fabled expedition in Asia, Alexander the Great visited the Dion to offer rich sacrifices for the Gods to bless him.
Our tour begins with a visit to the archaeological site and the museum of Dion. Then, we head up to the traditional picturesque village of Litochoro where we will have plenty of time to explore it and walk around the green valley of Enipeas.
